The 40th anniversary of the Carpet Museum of Iran with attendance of directors of cultural heritage, handicrafts and tourism organization of Iran and some carpet experts and artists will be held at amphitheater saloon of the museum on February 14, 2018.
Carpet Museum of Iran has opened 40 years ago at Tehran in February 1979 as the first official carpet museum in the world.
This museum owns an important treasury of antique, precious rugs that some of them has been shown on special exhibitions or catalogs for worldwide enthusiasts during last 40 years.
Refer to 40th anniversary of the opening of the Carpet Museum, special programs have been scheduled for one month from 14th February that one of them is the exhibition of 40 Safavid relics including rugs, kilims, ziloos, felts in the main saloon of the Museum.
This collection includes 32 relics from treasure of the Carpet Museum and 8 relics from treasure of National Museum of Iran. During this event, immortal statue will be awarded to one of the Persian carpet masters who is selected by the Carpet Museum.
Another exhibition includes of 40 selected artworks of contemporary carpet artists will be exhibited on the second floor simultaneously. Indeed, these two exhibitions are a collation between Safavid and contemporary artists and their tendencies, techniques.
Carpet Museum of Iran is located on the North-West Corner of Laleh Park, Intersection of Fatemi and Karegar avenues.
This event will be held for one month from February 14, 2018 on 5pm-7pm.
